When Does ChatGPT Codex Reset?
The most recent confirmed reset happened on 10/02/2026, 14:18 (Fri). The next reset is predicted for 10/06/2026, 09:20 (Tue) — computed by this site’s model from 38 historical reset records. This is not an official OpenAI schedule: OpenAI does not publish reset times; resets are announced irregularly on X by Tibo (@thsottiaux) from OpenAI.
How the prediction works
The model combines three signals. Each produces an expected time, and the result is their weighted median (weekday weight 2, interval weight 1, banked weight 1):
- Interval: the median gap between the last 20 resets, projected forward from the most recent one.
- Weekday: the weekday resets have historically landed on most often (counted in Pacific Time), anchored to the current cycle position.
- Banked link: the typical gap between a banked-credit grant and the next reset.
If Tibo announces a specific reset time in advance, the main prediction uses that announced time directly and the 24h / 48h probabilities adjust accordingly. Predictions are estimates based on historical patterns, not guarantees.
